Want an alternative to botox? Try snake venom

The latest weapon in battling wrinkles seems to be snake venom--temple viper venom to be exact. The venom acts like botox in that it paralyzes the muscles.

Scientists manufactured a synthetic version of the poison called Syn-Ake to be put to cosmetic use. Syn-Ake is put in creams to help with the battle against wrinkles.

I don't know about you, but growing up in an area populated with all kinds of poisonous snakes (rattlesnakes, coral snakes, cottonmouth/water moccasins, and copperheads) you learn to stay far away. Besides, snake poison (I'm not gonna use the prettified word 'venom' because it IS poison) is designed so the snake can digest it's prey. Of course there are different types of snake poisons, but still. I don't know if I'd feel comfortable with putting poison on my face. Some celebrities (Gwyneth Paltrow and Hillary Swank) use the poison though. It just sounds crazy.
